Authors guidelines

Didattica della matematica. Dalla ricerca alle pratiche d’aula is open to paper proposals about all aspects of mathematics education, including empirical, theoretical, methodological, historical, epistemological and philosophical works with a perspective of local, national or international interest.

The journal comprises three sections: Research and reflection, Teaching and learning experiences, Reviews.

  • Research and reflection section collects contributions in which one or more theoretical frames chosen by the authors are useful to support research results within mathematics education.
  • Teaching and learning experiences section collects the description of educational paths focused on mathematical or didactic topics, that have been experimented with students, which may (or not) be referred to a theoretical framework or a specific methodology.
  • Reviews section collects reviews of books, novels, films, videos, didactic materials about mathematics or mathematics education.

Paper proposals can be sent in any of the three sections and should declare which section are intended for.
Proposals can be submitted any time via the “Submit an article” block and must follow the formatting guidelines listed below.

Guidelines
All submissions to the journal Didattica della matematica. Dalla ricerca alle pratiche d’aula should comply with the formatting guidelines described by the editorial staff, in order to guarantee stylistic uniformity and facilitate the work in the revision and layout phases. Failure to respect formatting guidelines may result in the proposal being rejected.
The references of contributions to any section should follow APA style.

File formats
Papers must be submitted as .doc or .docx files. Papers sent in other formats (in particular .pdf) will not be accepted.

Language
Articles in a language different from Italian can be submitted to the section Research and reflection. After the review process, if these articles are accepted, they will be published in both languages.

Review process
When a paper is submitted for publication in the section Research and reflection or Teaching and learning experiences, it is initially considered by the editorial staff in order to evaluate if the addressed topics are relevant to and fit the journal’s scope. In case of a positive outcome, the paper is anonymously sent to two anonymous referees (double-blind peer review), either members of the scientific committee or external experts.
Contributions to the Reviews section are considered only by the editorial staff.

Article processing charges
No APC (Article Processing Charges) contribution will be requested from the author, i.e. no fees will be charged for either submission or publication of the article.

Copyrights
By submitting a proposal, the authors confirm to be the unique holders of copyrights of the text and of all the images and graphs contained in the paper, and that none of its elements is under the rights of third parties.
