This article aims to describe the most significant activities carried out by a first-grade class regarding problem solving activities, considered as one of the main and fundamental aspects of the mathematics curriculum. One of the goals of the didactic path is to instill the habit of tackling mathematical (and non-mathematical) problems without falling into stereotypes and rigid habits. Other objectives of the didactic path include involving all students and emphasizing the importance of welcoming all solving strategies proposed by the students for solving the problems addressed. Special attention is also given to the role of argumentation, both oral and written, considering the age of the students (6 years old).
