About the Journal
The journal Didattica della matematica. Dalla ricerca alle pratiche d’aula (DdM) is meant for researchers in mathematics education and teachers to reflect together critically and creatively on the process of teaching and learning mathematics. This publication contributes to the development and dissemination of reflections and research results and to the diffusion of relevant classroom practices, favouring the presentation of the principal orientations of research in mathematics education, the exchange and the communication between the academic world and the school, at national and international level. Through the selection of its themes, the journal addresses the current challenges in this domain and contributes to the scientific and public debate.
The articles are published in two different sections: Research and reflection and Teaching and learning experiences. The first section collects contributions in which one or more theoretical frames chosen by the authors are useful to support research results within mathematics education. The second section collects the description of educational paths focused on mathematical or didactic topics, that have been experimented with students, which may (or not) be referred to a theoretical framework or a specific methodology. In addition to these two sections, there is a part that collects reviews of books, novels, films, videos, didactic materials about mathematics or mathematics education.

Review process
Didattica della matematica. Dalla ricerca alle pratiche d’aula is an Open Access journal published in Italian. A double-blind peer-review process is used to evaluate all contributions.
Publication schedule
Every year the journal publishes two issues, the first in May and the second in November. Each volume contains 7 articles: 3 in the section Research and reflection, 4 in the section Teaching and learning experiences; moreover, there is a section Reviews in which there are reviews about book and materials regarding mathematics or mathematics education.
Publication languages
The articles submitted to the section Research and reflection in a language different from Italian may be published in the original language, in addition to Italian.
Article processing charges
Open Access publishing does have its costs. However, thanks to the financial support given by the Dipartimento formazione e apprendimento / Alta scuola pedagogica (DFA/ASP) of the Scuola universitaria professionale della Svizzera italiana (SUPSI), in collaboration with Dipartimento dell’educazione, della cultura e dello sport (DECS), Repubblica e Cantone Ticino, all articles accepted for publication in DdM will be published completely exempt of any charge.
